The Gospel

At Planting Life Haiti, we strive to keep Jesus at the centre of what we do and say, whether it is on the fields with farmers, in classrooms with kids and teachers, or in the streets with neighbours and friends.

“The harvest is plentiful” (Matthew 9:37). The people of Haiti recognize the existence of God and depend on Him for daily provisions. Day-to-day greetings and conversations will usually see some form of “Gras a Dye” (Thanks to God) or “Si Bondye vle” (Lord willing) included. On Sundays, streets are filled with well-adorned families walking to church. Worship can be heard at great distances as congregations praise God.

Haitians working together

In line with Planting Life Haiti’s mission statement, we seek to share the hope of Jesus with those around us. As we collaborate with the people of Désarmes in education and job creation; in extracurricular programs and classes; and in day-to-day social interactions, we share the love of Jesus. Planting Life Haiti has partnered with volunteers to offer ‘Vacation Bible School’; and for students struggling to continue their education PLH offers the ‘Agriculture Bursary Program’.

Throughout our activities, members and volunteers are open to offer prayer, devotion, teaching, and/or a Bible (Creole translation). The combination of efforts between education, jobs, and personal connections allows Planting Life to share the love of Jesus in a variety of contexts and ways. “…Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
